Assessing your circle is a fundamental key to growth. That’s it, that’s all. Your future will thank you later. Choose your company wisely because your life does in fact depend on it.
Hey y’all, long time no see. It definitely has been quite some time since we last spoke but no worries, I have a great topic for us to discuss & believe me we have a lotttt of catching up to do.
Year 2022 has taught a tremendous amount of lessons, particularly on who should be allowed in your circle. For those who don’t know, your circle is a small phrase for the company you keep. Whether that’s friends, family, associates, etc., it is important to make sure you keep a close eye on who you are surrounding yourself by.
Speaking for myself, I noticed I developed habits that weren’t a great representation of who I knew I was. I began being more angry when I surrounded myself around women especially who were always angry. To be quite honest this issue may have began a while back & over time my anger built up. When I finally became aware that my behaviors were not okay, God began showing me scripture that resonated with my situation. 1 Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals.” To explain in depth, this doesn’t mean that the person is bad at all it just means their spirit isn’t happy. Sometimes you can pick up habits & not even realize where it came from or how it started. All you know is that it’s here but you don’t want it to stay. That was me.
Proverbs 22:24
“Do not befriend angry people or
associate w/ hot tempered people.”
What I have learned to do is to pray for people who don’t know how to be happy. Keep in mind we are human & it’s easy to fall short & become that very person you don’t want to be like. I have entertained the negativity numerous times & I found it does not make anything better but it can & will make you miserable. Advising someone to pray sounds cliche but it does work & is beneficial. Pray & believe & you will see change. When you surround yourself w/ positive people you most certainly become positive.
Assessing your circle is so important especially if you plan to have relationships long term. If your heart tells you someone is not for you, chances are they probably aren’t. You have to do what works for you & your future. You will thank yourself later.
