How God Is Teaching Me to Trust Him While Building My Dream
Have you ever known God placed something on your heart, but still wondered how in the world it was actually going to happen? Learning to trust God while building your dream can be hard when you can see the vision but have no idea how it will all come together.

The dream I’m building is my own media company—a space for women like me to come together through faith, womanhood, life, and style. I want to document my journey of becoming the woman I’ve always dreamed of being while still learning and growing along the way.
I’ve dreamed about this since 2018, when I was sitting in my college apartment trying to figure out what I actually wanted to do with my life. I wrote down everything I enjoyed and realized how much I loved writing, fashion, teaching, and creating. That dream has been embedded in my heart ever since.
Now, eight years later, it finally feels tangible. I understand the industry more, I have direction, and my vision is clearer. After setbacks, overthinking, inconsistency, and taking time away in 2024 to focus on safely delivering my son, I feel ready to go after it—all the way.
Maybe I’m Not Behind—Maybe I’m Being Prepared
Sometimes I look at those eight years and think, I should be so much further by now. I’ve questioned whether I’m good enough, whether my voice matters, whether people will support me, and even whether I’m too late.
But I’m learning to look at my journey differently. Beautiful things being built take time. They need a strong foundation, because if the foundation isn’t stable, everything built on top of it can crumble.
What if I haven’t simply been delayed? What if I’ve been prepared?
When I look back, I can see areas where God was growing me. I needed more discipline, direction, confidence, knowledge, and most importantly, a willingness to surrender my plans to Him. I’ve witnessed God perform some of the most unthinkable miracles in my life, so when doubt creeps in, I have to remember His track record.
If He gave me the vision, I have to trust that He can equip me with what I need to see it through.
How I’m Learning to Trust God While Building My Dream
I’ve also learned that trusting God doesn’t mean sitting around dreaming. For a long time, I did a lot of dreaming, but eventually I had to accept that dreaming alone wasn’t producing anything.
Faith without works is dead. So now, I pray—and then I work.
I ask God for wisdom and direction, then take the next step. Sometimes it’s trial and error, but I’d rather try, learn, adjust, and keep going than stay stuck waiting for the perfect moment.
I’m learning to be faithful with what I already have. I’m building, writing, learning, creating, and showing up. I don’t need to have everything figured out before I begin. I’m learning that I can trust God while building my dream without needing to know how every part of the story will unfold.
Small beginnings make for beautiful stories and testimonies. Hold onto those moments for later.
To the Woman Building Something She Can’t See Yet
If God has placed a dream on your heart too, start where you are. Pray for wisdom, steward what you have, stay true to the vision, remain obedient, and do the work.
Don’t determine the future of your dream by what your current season looks like. That’s what faith is for.
I’m still learning this myself. God has proven Himself to me time and time again, and yet sometimes I still forget just how faithful He’s been. I don’t have to understand every detail of what’s coming next. God knows His daughter, and I can release the pressure of figuring everything out to the One who already knows what’s ahead.
I don’t know exactly what this dream will look like a year from now. I don’t know when every prayer will be answered. But I’m learning that I don’t need all of those answers to keep going.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
