What I’m Learning About Giving God My Plans
I have a pretty clear picture of what I want for my life. I want to get my business off the ground, build a beautiful income, and be successful doing something I genuinely care about.
That vision excites me, but sometimes it makes me anxious too. I know what I want and where I want to go—I just don’t know exactly how it will happen.
But I know it will.

I Like Knowing What’s Next
I am absolutely someone who likes having a plan. I like knowing the ins and outs of whichever direction I’m taking before I just do it.
One thing I tend to worry about is longevity. I don’t just want my dreams to become reality—I want what I build to last.
Still, I’m learning that I can plan all I want, but eventually I have to trust God with the parts I cannot see.
My Timing Isn’t Always God’s Timing
I’ve wanted consistency to happen much faster than it has.
Looking back, there were times when things didn’t completely feel right, but I thought throwing myself out there would eventually change that feeling.
Now, nothing feels more right than right now.
Maybe there was a reason those other times didn’t work the way I wanted them to. Instead of being frustrated about the timing, I’m learning to appreciate where God has me today.
Pray About It, Then Release It
God knows His daughter, because sometimes it takes me a few prayers before I fully release something.
I struggle with wanting control, but carrying around control that I don’t actually have is heavy.
When I finally pray and release it, I feel lighter.
I can go into prayer with tears and come out with a smile—or vice versa—but the outcome is always good. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you’re holding until you pray.
Being able to get candid with your Heavenly Father and have that real, raw relationship with Him feels so good.
Trusting God Doesn’t Mean Doing Nothing
Trusting God doesn’t mean I stop doing my part.
I’m still responsible for showing up, doing the work, praying, and allowing Him to lead me.
Right now, that also means building discipline: waking up earlier, going to bed earlier, feeding my soul with God’s Word, praying, and taking steps toward becoming a better person every day.
It’s not easy at allll, but it’s worth it.
I Don’t Need to Know Every Detail
With my business, I’m doing the tasks without knowing what the outcome will be. I just have to be obedient to the call.
My husband and son are a huge part of what keeps me going. My husband constantly affirms me, and when I look at my son and think about his future and the future of his siblings, I remember why I keep showing up.
I don’t know the entire plan. I’m learning that I don’t need to.
His Plans Over Mine
I’m learning that if I’m devoting my life to the Lord, I can trust Him to take good care of me and everything I place in His hands.
If you feel like you’re lacking direction because life isn’t happening according to your timeline, surrender your life to God and trust Him with it. Let Him lead you where you need to be.
And don’t become so focused on what you’re waiting for that you miss what He’s already done.
You may be living in an answered prayer right now.
Acknowledge God for that, too.
